Even celebrities, who have the money to afford exorbitant energy costs, have taken to this option, moving toward lifestyles.

Some celebrities, such as Rachel McAdams, known for Mean Girls, Doctor Strange and The Notebook among many other titles, are making several changes to their lifestyle in addition to including solar panels on their homes. McAdams has also adopted other daily lifestyle changes to cut down on her carbon footprint, such as riding her bike instead of driving whenever she can and keeping appliances unplugged when they are not in use.

Brad Pitt, an Oscar and Golden Globe winner, started the Make It Right project to build homes for people in need and has included solar energy as a part of the construction of these homes.

Orlando Bloom, well known as Pirates of the Caribbean’s Will Turner and The Lord of the Rings’ Legolas, has a home located in London that he asked to be constructed with solar panels, energy-efficient light bulbs and other eco-friendly options.

Lord of the Rings trilogy’s Cate Blanchett believes in solar power so strongly that she installed it for her own home as well as helping Sydney Theatre Company with their solar panel installation.

There is an entire island in the Bahamas that runs on hydrogen solar cells. This island is owned by Johnny Depp, known for his roles in Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean and Edward Scissorhands among other movies.
