Armando Alaniz, a long time member of the engineering department, has been promoted to Tech Manager. As such, he will lead a department responsible for site surveys, which map out detailed reports for Renova’s customers, identifying the electrical panel capabilities, analyzing the available roof space, measuring year round shade interference and determining monitoring options.
Following graduation at Palm Springs High School, enlisted in the United State Army where he served for 10 years. He then continued his education at DeVry University in Austin where he pursued his love of computer and network engineering. Utilizing his Army experience paired with his computer background, he began as a solar technician at Renova in 2014, quickly moved to Technician Supervisor, and has now been named the Manager of the Tech department.
“We’re proud to have someone of Armando’s caliber leading this very important department,” explained Renova’s Vice President of Engineering Matthew De La Torre. “Not only are these team members many times the first in-person contact potential customers have with Renova, they are responsible for the initial design of systems based on the data they collect paired with past customer energy usage.”
The former Tech Manager, Hector Rochin, has transferred within the company to become the Systems Administrator of the IT department under Vice President of IT Marvin Roman. He will be helping to implement the new company-wide NetSuite solution, as well as enhancing other network capabilities and Renova’s website SEO and other internet-based marketing initiatives.
Rochin, who has been with Renova since 2013, attended La Quinta High School, College of the Desert and then UC Riverside, where he graduated with a BS in computer engineering.
“Obviously technology is the backbone of our company,” said IT Vice President Marvin Roman. “It’s great to have Hector bring his expertise on behalf of our employees and customers.”
